The Jenkees and Cat Sedation

Through a good friend of mine, I jumped on the late bandwagon of Jenkees fans. No idea if you've heard of this guy before, but as many have said before me, this guy is going places. No, he's not an idiot savant--I thought the same think. He's just a rather socially awkward guy that makes some of the coolest music I've ever heard.

This, to me, is exactly what the interweb is for, and what makes it so good: Allowing those with talent to actually be recognized for their talent WITHOUT having to jump through the usual bureaucratic hoops that is the entertainment industry. I haven't bought his album yet, but it will be one of the first records I'll have purchased in some time--been too broke for new music. The whole of the internet is/should be used to find, discover, and be inspired by one another. Jenkees is an awesome example of this.

In other news, my cat spent the majority of yesterday spaced out and sedated. He had to have a quick visit to the vet for what we found out was/is a bladder infection, and he's gone back this morning, because he still hasn't eaten. I know them kitties is nothing short of little boogers, but they grow on you, and it's never good to see something in pain that can't tell you what's wrong, be it person or animal.

Hope your day is a good one. Gibberish tomorrow.

Whew...

Today marks the end of my third semester for the MFA program. Only one left and I become a holder of a master's degree. Kinda frightening if you ask me. Luckily I finished most of my work yesterday for my turn in today, otherwise I'd be in trouble, as today will be rather busy. Ah well.

Found out last night that one of my cats has only one working kidney--and that one is weak. It's weird to think about how animals have so many of the same problems as we do, but we mostly don't take the time to find out what's wrong. I guess it just strikes me as odd, and I can't really say why.

All in all, I'm in a weird mood today. Need some more sleep. I think I shouldn't be allowed to make chili anymore (as it is WAY to hot for my own taste.) And I feel like there is too much to do in my remaining weeks before so much will explode.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend, and I'll see you back on Monday.

Halloween Thing

Being a person that doesn't, and hasn't, ever done much with Halloween, I really don't have anything planned. I'd intended on posting Halloween Gibberish this week but kinda forgot as I worked on the new comics. Mayhap I'll try and post something later to make up for it. No promises though.

Last night, I went to see The Nightmare Before Christmas 3-D. I urge each and every one of you to go see it--if you've never seen it on the big screen, or even if you have. While the glasses are rather cumbersome and dig into your nose, the added depth makes it all worthwhile. Plus, having the chance to see it on the big screen again was reason enough for me. And you get a cool 3-D trailer for Coraline, for which I'm all but dancing around like a little kid needing to use the restroom.

No real plans for the weekend. Going to hit up a used bookstore today--trying to get my hands on a few cheap and out of print books (Hawkline Monster and During the Reign of the Queen of Persia)--after I take my cat to the vet. Poor guy has scabs and sores all over his body because of his allergies. May or may not hand out candy later--depends on where my wife and I spend the evening.

Have yourselves a safe and happy Halloween, and I'll see you on Monday.
